Late. Shri. Balasaheb Ramrao Pawar was a politician who has contributed for the development of the Marathwada region. His Contribution comes mainly in the field of cooperative, education and he was instrumental in started an agitation for for the development of region, he was parliamentarian and was a vivid reader having his own in house library. His subjects of interest were History, religion and social sciences. He was very proud of the glorious history of the region staring with “SHALIWAHAN DYNASTY from Paithan , The YADAV DYNASTY from Devgiri. The Ancestors of CHH. Shivaji Maharaj who held from Verul (Ellora) ”. Although a politician he never had a opportunity to represent his home constituency but that did not stop him from initiating developmental activities in his home town kannad. His prominent contribution for development of kannad taluka has been in setting up the Kannad cooperative sugar factory, one of the first in Marathwada region. He was also instrumental in setting up and education institute in the name of “ Shri. Chh. Shivaji Shikshak Prasarak mandal”. He had a dream to start a library cum Study centre at Kannad , Later shaping his dreams into reality Mr. Mansingh Pawar his son (S/o Shri. Balasaheb Pawar) started the library cum study centre in 1998 in their own ancestral house.

The library was renovated in the year 2022 to provide world class facility for the readers and enthusiasts of kannad, It is one of its kind library study centre in the region. Interaction sessions with experts from realtime industry are organised with great enthusiasm at the premises. The Library has a multifunctional hall with seating capacity of 250+ , study centre, video conferencing class room, Digital Library, a centre for competitive exam preparation, Community centre for allied activities. The library was awarded Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Best Public Library award by the Higher Technical Education Directorate Govt. of Maharashtra.
